IPL hair Removal

The removal of unwanted hair is a popular cosmetic procedure for women and it is increasing among men as well.

The demand for intense pulsed light (IPL) hair removal and laser hair removal treatments are at an all-time high. This is not surprising, considering that traditional hair removal via electrolysis and waxing is painful, increase the hair growth and not to mention the cosmetic problems it causes the skin. Light-based hair removal permanently reduces unwanted facial and body hair, in fewer treatments and with more comfort than is possible with traditional procedures.

In the 1990s, Palomar® pioneered permanent hair reduction after receiving the first FDA clearance for this procedure. Since then, Palomar IPL have been the industry standard that all others have been compared to, and validated by Palomar's strong patent position.

Our IPL technology delivers specific wavelengths, with large spot sizes, superior contact cooling and smooth pulse technology for clients of all skin types, hair colors and finer hair. The highly targeted pulsed-light destroys the structures that grow new hair, while the Advanced Contact Cooling technology promotes patient comfort.

Our IPL technology has been clinically proven to produce long lasting results in the removal of unwanted hair from all areas of the body including the face, back, chest, leg, bikini line and underarm areas - with greater comfort and less down time.

Patient Benefits:

. Excellent aesthetic outcomes

. Long-term, lasting results

. Fast treatment sessions

. Advanced Contact Cooling technology to minimize discomfort

IPL for Ingrown hair

IPL Hair Removal is an excellent choice for those suffering from ingrown hair problems. The removal of body or facial hair through IPL is achieved at a hair follicle level therefore reducing the amount of twisted hairs under the skin, pimples and bumps that result from other conventional methods of hair removal such as waxing and tweezing. In addition, the IPL will clear skin pigmentation caused by waxing within a few treatments.

Fractional laser skin resurfacing

Our FDA approved and patented technology for Fractional laser skin resurfacing maximizes the patient's aesthetic outcomes while minimizing procedure risk and reducing patient downtime. It's the smart approach to skin resurfacing that uses microbeams to create areas of treated tissue surrounded by untreated tissue, which provides faster healing and reduced side effects.

Our technology is the perfect choice for the treatment of wrinkles, acne and surgical scars, melasma (dark skin discoloration), stretch marks, unwanted textural irregularities, crow's feet, blotchy skin and more, on virtually any trouble spot on the body - face, neck, chest, arms, legs.

Cosmetic Dermatology

Often described as the "fountain of youth", Botox injections for wrinkles are one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic procedures in the world today. Botox, or better known scientifically as Botulinum Toxin Type A, was developed originally to treat muscle disorders such as uncontrolled blinking. Later over the years it was found to be effective in reducing wrinkles and approved for cosmetic use by the FDA in 2002.

Botox treatment are used primarily to treat frown lines between the eyebrows, crow's feet and other wrinkles and fine lines on the forehead and around the lips that tend to accumulate over time, as a result of years of squinting and frowning. The Botox treatment works on these wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles and results are usually seen in just a few days.

Botox Treatment can also be very beneficial to people with excessive sweating (underarms, palms). On the hands, a condition called hyperhidrosis, can be very bothersome for people, especially in professions where they are regularly required to shake hands. The treatment is simple and involves tiny injections of Botox on the palms. Results last for months, and patients have reported a very high satisfaction rate.

Typical Recovery Time after Botox:

Botox Treatments and other fillers are done on an outpatient basis. Some patients come in on their lunch hour as these procedures only take 15-20 minutes. After the treatment, you might have some redness or swelling. This will normally last for only a few hours-- a day or two at most, although everyone is different. Sun exposure should be avoided until any redness or swelling disappears.

With advancing age, skin becomes less elastic and the sun damage contributes to the loss of lip edge definition, wrinkles and irregular pigmentation. In addition to lines, lost facial and cheek volume may also be a concern. Many women want to restore the lost volume from their cheeks that may have left them looking flat or hollow.

Dermal fillers are injected into your skin to fill lines, enhancing your facial contours and lips for natural-looking results. Depending on your particular needs, your consultant plastic surgeon may recommend using combinations of different types of fillers for the best results.

Depending on your particular needs, your consultant plastic surgeon will recommend using combinations of different types of fillers for the best results. The two most popular materials used are: Hyaluronic acid (HA), and collagen. Injectable HA gel is a modified form of the HA that occurs naturally in your body. Injections help fill in and smooth away facial lines, acne scars or other skin contour deficiencies.

Collagen helps provide your skin its structure and elasticity whereas HA serves to provide volume and internal moisturisation for your skin. By supporting the skin’s natural collagen, collagen filler helps minimise lines, improves texture and gives the skin a softer and more even tone.

Botox for hyperhidrosis (Botox for excessive sweating in armpits, palms & soles)

Botox for hyperhidrosis

What is Hyperhidrosis?

Hyperhidrosis means excessive sweating. Sweating is one of the most important ways in which the body loses heat, however, people with hyperhidrosis produce sweat in amounts far greater than needed to control their temperature.

There are two main types of hyperhidrosis:

Focal hyperhidrosis is the more common type involving excessive sweating on the feet, hands and in about 30 – 40% of cases, the armpits. Botox is recommended for the treatment of focal hyperhidrosis affecting the armpits (axillary hyperhidrosis) when other treatments have not worked.

Generalised hyperhidrosis affects the whole body. It is much less common and is usually caused by another illness such as an infection, diabetes or when the thyroid gland is overactive. The excessive sweating usually stops when the illness is treated.

How common is Hyperhidrosis?

It has been estimated that up to 1% of the population has some form of hyperhidrosis. It usually starts during the teens and twenties.

What are the causes of hyperhidrosis?

It’s not known why some people are affected and others are not. Hyperhidrosis is caused by over activity of one type of sweat gland, the eccrine gland. These glands are found virtually all over the body surface but they are concentrated on the palms of the hands, the soles of the feet and in the armpits.

Many things can trigger normal sweating and this is also true for hyperhidrosis – it’s just the amount of sweating that varies.

Examples of triggers include:

. Exercise

. Heat or cold

. Alcohol, coffee or tea, smoking, hot or spicy food

. Stress, anxiety or strong emotions

. Certain times of the day

Nefertiti - jaw contouring and neck rejuvenation

The Nefertiti neck lift is a new technique where the clinician injects along the jawline and neck of the patient. This treatment is carried out by one of our clinicians by placing multiple anti wrinkle injections of along the lower jawline as well as down the side of the neck along the plasma bands or plasma muscle it is possible to greatly improve the definition and indeed the life of the jawline. Simultaneous to lifting the jaw line is the rebalancing of the underlying muscles and provide ‘lifting’ in the neck and jaw area.

It was Queen Nefertiti who had a well -defined jawline and a long tight neckline, and it was she who set the precedence for these features being a sign of beauty and indeed youth. These youthful attributes date back to the Egyptians. So named the Nefertiti neck lift as Queen Nefertiti possessed a long youthful neck and was known for her youthful beauty and defined strong tight jawline.

Queen Nefertiti, whose bone structure continues to be admired in modern times.

The Nefertiti Neck Lift works by relaxing muscles beneath the jaw, which contribute to a down ward pull along the jaw.

Once these muscles are relaxed the net effect is an upward pull from facial muscles, creating a more defined looking jawline neck and face.

The Nefertiti Lift requires approximately 30 units of anti wrinkle injections product. For a lasting result the treatment needs to be repeated every 3 to 4 months as with all anti-wrinkle treatments.

The Nefertiti Lift is a relatively new procedure, which gives a longer less wrinkled neck and eradicates the ‘turkey neck’ seen in older women. The Nefertiti neck lift redefines the elegant lines of the jaw and neck for a youthful, tighter, more contoured appearance without the need for surgery. The loss of volume in the cheek area or the flattening of the cheek an indeed the loss of jawline definition are two of the major features of the ageing face. Anti wrinkle injections can now be used along the jawline to reduce sagging and indeed to rejuvenate the jawline.

Mesotherapy for hair loss

Treatment for Hair Loss

Mesotherapy is a baldness treatment alternative that allows both men and women with hair regrowth. It can also delay male pattern baldness.

Medical Symptom & Sign Information:

Both men and women suffer from thinning hair and hair loss thus making them seek treatment for hair loss. Male pattern baldness is also a serious concern for a large portion of the population. Each of these conditions fall under the medical term "alopecia." Some of the common signs and symptoms of alopecia include...

Balding . Patchy Hair Loss . Progressive Thinning of the Hair

Some studies have shown that the naturally-occurring dehydrotestosterone (DHT) hormone is one of the factors causing hair loss.

Mesotherapy Treatment Description:

Techniques used in mesotherapy treatment for hair loss are derived from mesotherapy. You will hear about proprietary approaches such as Mesoplasty® or MesoHair, which have both shown positive results with hair re-growth in both men and women.

Using a specialized cocktail, your scalp is essentially given a vitamin boost which can improve the blood circulation in this area. Better circulation allows your hair follicles to be better nourished...all of which can improve hair re-growth.

With mesotherapy, treatment for hair loss will likely be done via injection gun as opposed to the mesotherapist injecting by hand. This helps to make mesotherapy treatment for hair loss faster as well as potentially less painful.

Over time, the mesotherapy solution will neutralize the DHT hormone, causing hair to grow again.

You may need as many as five sessions of this mesotherapy treatment for hair loss over a period of four to six months before you see significant results. Your mesotherapist will let you know if your particular case requires more or less treatment.

Mesotherapy can potentially eliminate the need for hair transplant surgery. However, remember that mesotherapy treatments work best when toxins are eliminated from the diet and you're following a healthy exercise program.

Problematic Skin

Acne Treatments

Hormones and genetics

At the start of puberty, a lot of hormones are released into the body. One of these hormones is testosterone. Both boys and girls have testosterone and other related hormones called androgens, but boys have more of them. Androgens affect oil glands in the skin of the face, neck, back, shoulders and chest. They make the glands grow bigger and produce more oil (sebum).

Bacteria on the skin and blocked pores result in blackheads, pimples and cysts. A teenager is more likely to get acne if one of their parents had it during adolescence, but even in the same family, some people may get worse acne than others.

Girls tend to get it at a younger age than boys and it can become worse or ‘break out’ at certain times of a girl’s menstrual cycle, such as just before a period and they also tend to have ongoing acne, even into their 30s or 40s. Boys often have more outbreaks than girls, and they often seem to get more severe acne – worse pimples and more cysts.

Treatment for acne – non-prescription

Some acne treatments can be bought over the counter at pharmacies or supermarkets. These work by cleaning the skin and drying up excess oil. Mild irritation can occur with such treatments. If this happens, take a short break from treatment and restart after a few days. If the irritation is excessive, stop the medication and speak to your doctor about an alternative.

It is a good idea to talk to a pharmacist before you buy a product to find out which treatment might be the most useful for you. A cleanser for acne-prone skin may be all that is needed for mild acne. Don’t rely on advertisements or the advice of friends.

Platelet Rich Plasma

PRP for Face

PRP is a recent technology that uses ingredients from your own blood to regenerate your skin and to rejuvenate collagen, resulting in vibrant, fresh younger looking skin. These ingredients reside within the fraction of your blood named "Platelet Rich Plasma" (PRP). PRP is enriched with platelets, stem cells and growth factors. Once injected into your skin, these substances will accelerate the normal healing process via new collagen formation at the injected area. Because your plasma (autologous) is used, there is no danger of disease transmission, anaphylaxis or neoplasia.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are 'bioactive' stimulators NOT a filler and it will increase collagen providing a gradual increase in skin thickness. Visible results appear after the first treatment session.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are are effective for treating:

The eye area

Fine lines and wrinkles

Improvement in skins tone & texture

Full face rejuvenation

Dull dry skin

PRP's most exciting feature is that it is YOUR body, YOUR blood and Your plasma. Nothing artificial, nothing modified and therefore is 100% safe. It is the most natural way of rejuvenating.

What to expect

Ten minutes prior to your PRP treatment, our clinic cosmetic physician will draw ten to twenty milliliters of your blood, like taking a standard blood test, causing minimal pain and thereafter the blood will separated into its ingredients. Today, platelet rich plasma can easily be separated from blood, through a process of centrifugation. A special machine called a centrifuge is used to separate the platelet rich plasma out, which is then injected below the surface of the skin in the area of fat loss and/or wrinkles. Using your enriched plasma permits the body to heal faster and more efficiently.

A single PRP treatment will take approximately 30 minutes.

You can go straight back to work following the treatment, but be prepared for some swelling and bruising. The swelling and bruising can last up to a week in some patients and it is as a result of the activation of the cells caused by the injected platelets.

PRP for Hair Loss

At Aesthetic Polyclinic, we have been performing PRP therapy as a proactive therapeutic option for male and female patients experiencing hair loss. PRP is an exciting non-surgical therapeutic option for patients who require stimulation of hair growth for hair loss conditions.

Recent scientific research and technology provides the medical community with new understandings of wound and tissue healing. As a result of these scientific studies, we know PRP is an all-natural medical procedure performed in physicians’ offices for hair loss or conditions causing hair thinning.

Fat lipolysis injections

Injection lipolysis is a safe method of removal of a small amount of excessive fat from the body. The method is based on dissolution of the fat tissue and its natural washing off from the body. This method is used for body contour modelling. The method is designed for patients with small areas of excessive fat around the body that cannot be burnt by diet or exercise and where liposuction is not indicated. The method is by no means a way to reduce obesity for it does not result in any general weight loss.

The method is often used for reduction of double skin, removal of abdominal fat or fat cushions on the inner thighs or arm back or for improvement of cellulite. The method is indicated either for small areas or for areas not suitable for liposuction.

Unlike liposuction, which is a surgical method removing larger quantities of fat, injection lipolysis can be performed in the outpatient surgery without anaesthesia. After the intervention you need not wear the compressive elastic underwear and can immediately return to your daily chores. To a certain extent the method is an alternative to liposuction or its complement for fine body modelling.

Advantages of fat removal with injection lipolysis:

. A careful non-invasive method

. Fat is removed evenly

. Helps improve firmness and elasticity of the skin

. Outpatient treatment taking a couple of minutes

. Permanent result

Spider and Leg Veins

Sclerotherapy Injections for Leg Veins

Sclerotherapy Leg Vein Removal and What is Laser Leg Vein Removal and Sclerotherapy?

Laser Leg Vein treatments enable removal of unwanted small and large spider veins in a few treatments. We use our knowledge of anatomy and plan treatments carefully to ensure the best cosmetic outcome. We utilize both the most effect laser technology for this purpose as well as the time honored practice of injection sclerotherapy.

Laser Leg Vein treatments are laser treatments and sclerotherapy is an injectable therapy used to remove spider and reticular veins.

During a Laser Leg Vein treatment, your provider will apply ultrasound gel to the area being treated. The laser is then applied in “pulses” to the entire area. Cool air is blown on the area during the treatment to minimize discomfort and prevent side effects. Depending on the extent of the veins, each treatment takes between 15-60 minutes. Subsequent treatments are performed at 4 to 12 week intervals.

Injection sclerotherapy is a technique where a solution is injected in the veins to cause their removal by the body. This procedure does require needles but is actually quite tolerable.

Laser for Spider Veins

Treatment for Leg Veins

Visible leg veins are a common problem for many women. Our Laser leg vein treatment is a noninvasive procedure for the clearing of spider veins and reticular veins - with no incision, minimal discomfort and no downtime. Our laser leg vein removal uses pulses of laser light at just the right wavelength to constrict the vessels responsible for leg veins, causing the vein to degenerate and visibly disappear. The laser light passes through the epidermis, only affecting blood vessels, so there is no injury to outer skin. The result? Quick and easy leg vein procedures with reduced side effects and little to no recovery time.

How does our Leg Vein Treatment Work?

Lasers deliver concentrated light in a specific wavelength of the spectrum. Each wavelength is absorbed by a different target, such as pigment, blood or water. Our chosen technology for the treatment for spider and reticular leg veins uses delivers light pulses in the 1064nm wavelength which is ideal for targeting leg veins. This specific wavelength of laser is used to send energy into the blood and vessel walls, where it is absorbed by hemoglobin. The hemoglobin is heated by the absorption of energy, and the vessel coagulates and closes off. The constricted vessel then degenerates, and the leg vein is no longer visible from the surface of the skin.

Is this treatment safe? Is it painful?

Laser Leg vein treatments are skin-safe and comfortable. Our laser technology delivers

Benefits for Clients:

. Excellent outcomes for spider and reticular veins

. Noninvasive treatment

. Short procedure time (less than 30 minutes)

. Minimal side effects and no downtime

. Comfortable, well-tolerated leg vein treatment
